Post-Bleach Hair.,
400,
300,
My hair, short and simple as it might seem in real life, involves a complex mutli-step process, which i will now enumerate.
Francisco's Multi-Highlights Hairstyle
- Shave head to within a few millimeters of hair.
- Wait a day or two to let your scalp heal. If you do not wait then your scalp may burn a lot when you bleach it - adding those chemicals to open cuts stings a bit.
- Bleach hair. This gets your hair ready to accept the colour. I use Manic Panic Flash Lightning bleach kits.
- Wait a day or two to let your scalp heal. Same reason as above.
- Dye hair. Be sure to use a dye that will not stain your scalp unless you really want a stained scalp. I generally dye my hair red, using one of Clairol's Absolute Reds Hydrience
- Wait a day or two to let your hair grow out.
- Apply light layer of bleach to various sections of hair.
- Rinse out bleach after short period of time. The amount of time depends on the hair as well as how intense you want the highlights to your highlights to be.
- Add second colour of your choice. I use Jerome Russell Punky Color hair colours. Manic Panic also has some decent colours. Generally i go for a green second highlight.
That's it. After a week or two the full effects will be seen - the tips of your hair will be a different colour than the rest of your head and blended into those highlights will be a different colour. Depending on how short your hair was originally, how long your leave the bleach in for and what colours you pick, the effect can be either quite noticeable or very subtle. I've had people ask me if my hair was naturally coloured the way it looked or if i did something to it - the red tips can be made to look like sun bleached and the green highlights might appear tobe a trick of the light.
